This Christmas, let’s put an end to predatory lending
I get nostalgic this time of year; classic Christmas songs like “Silver Bells,” bring to mind images of an entire city decked out for holiday celebrations. Unfortunately, today, as I drive down Hardy Street or up West Pine, it’s not silver bells dotting every corner.
On block after block, I see payday lenders, offering the “gift” of fast cash. There is at least one payday loan storefront for every 800 households in Forrest County.
